Kim Norman was from New South Wales. He refused to obey a call-up notice under the National Service Act 1964 (NSA). It is likely he had engaged in non-compliance with the NSA before this time, August 1972. A warrant for his arrest was issued 188 February 1972. He was arrested on 10 August 1972, probably under Section 8A of the Crimes Act. He was placed on a $1500 bail and $1500 surety. He was subsequently convicted and sentenced to the mandatory 18 months jail under the NSA. It is unknown when he was released as he was not included in the 7 draft resister names released by the newly elected Whitlam Labor Government in early December 1972.
