Thomas McAllan was born on 25 January 1909 at Kalgoorlie, WA. He was married to Dorothy McAllan, and they had one child. In his statement to the court, he said that he did not wish to register as a conscientious objector. He was not a conscientious objector, nor a pacifist. He described himself as “neutral in the conflict between nations…I have already taken the oath to serve Jehovah and Christ Jesus, and I cannot serve anything that is in opposition to his kingdom”.
