Brian Spillane was a 20-year-old from Canterbury in New South Wales. He was a Jehovah’s Witness. He applied for full exemption from military service but was only granted  exemption from combatant duties  by Magistrate Rogers on 16 August 1965.It is unknown if he  appealed the decision.
