Barbara Jones was a member of a Christadelphian community of farmers, who refused to comply with the Manpower Regulations because of their Christian beliefs. She was married to Arthur Jones, who was also fined, and then imprisoned for refusing to pay the fine and for refusing to enlist. She refused to pay her fine, but no action was taken by the court, because she had young children.
