Peter Collyer was the son of Lancelot Oliver Collyer, an Executive at General Motors, who had resigned his position because the firm’s resources were being used for war work. Lancelot Collyer was a very active in the peace movement, serving as leader of the Conscientious Objectors Fellowship Group, and Vice President of the Christian Pacifist Movement. Both Lancelot and Peter were members of the Victorian State Pacifist Council and the Churches of Christ.
