Further Information:

Bruce Coaldrake was a member of the Anglican church. He became a pacifist after serving for 6 years in the Army Service Corps of the Australian Militia Forces. After serving a period in camp, he applied to the Army for exemption from all further service. Six months of negotiations followed before Bruce was granted a discharge in May 1941. Bruce was a brother of peace activist and Anglican priest, Frank Coaldrake.
