Further Information:

A.W.G. Chapman was born at Corranbong NSW in 1912. He was married and belonged to a non-denominational Christian group. He applied for civil work on 8 April 1942, but when he appeared in court on 7 October 1942, the Magistrate ruled that he had no jurisdiction to judge the case. The Area Officer stated that the Army was prepared to enlist Chapman as a non-combatant without an order being made.  The outcome is unknown.
