Further Information:
John Blake of Nunawading, a suburb of Melbourne, made application for full exemption from military service during 1965 or early 1966. His application was not granted. He appealed the decision, and it was heard in the Melbourne County Court by Jidge Woinarski on 2 April 1966. John stated that, “I believe that to kill is immoral and even more so if the only justification is an order Anyone who kills is committing two crimes, one against the victim and one against himself”. Judge Woinarski granted John full exemption as a conscientious objector.
