Larry Abrahamson of North Kew , a suburb of Melbourne refused to register for the July 1969 intake. This made him liable for 2 years jail sentence. However, it apppears he was referred as a conscientious objector unde reg. 32A during 1972. His name appears on a list held by the NAA as being granted full exemption. The list is dated 17 August 1972. This procedure was commonly used by the government as a means of minimising political damage to it with jailing many young men of conscience. The referral could take place with or without the young man’s agreement.
